Decorated candle holders

Hubby and I found these candle holders at Tuesday Mornings. Since they are two  different colors but, the same size I wanted to  do something to make them come together. I found a two pack of green and red bells  with flowers and ribbons at the Dollar Tree.

I just took some  Christmas ribbon and threaded the bells on so  they are on each side of the candle sticks.  I put the red bells on the green and the green bells on the red.  The I topped them with some gold LED candles.

So pleased how these turned out and they balance each other.  Here is a photo with the candles off.

Below is one with the candles on, they will look nice on my dinning room table along with our other Christmas decorations.

Target Items, Decorated

A friend posted about some inexpensive items she picked up at Target and I decided to go and check it out. I purchased the same little red ceramic truck with a Christmas tree on top. Then I found some wooden cut outs, along with some Christmas scrap paper.

First I took the wooden Christmas tree and I painted it green, I had some Lowe's sample paint and it worked perfectly.
Then I took some printable vinyl and using my Silhouette Cameo I cut out some lights and my hubby put them on the tree. He lined it up better than I would have done.  I then added a yellow vinyl star for the top.  So pleased with how this turned out.

From there I wanted to put something on the little ceramic truck it took some trial and error but, I finally had the right size and I managed to cut the words and the trees.  I made the truck look like a Christmas tree sellers truck.  I also put the year and MS for Mississippi on it.

Here is one side with our last name and as the seller of the Christmas trees.
Here is the other side.
Here is the front, thinking of putting vinyl on the lights.
Here is the back of  the truck.
The last thing I had to decorate is these wooden Santa and sleigh along with 3 wooden reindeer. They had a paper coating on one side and when removed it was sticky. So I took the reindeer and sprinkled brown glitter on them and it worked and turned out  perfectly.

For the Santa, my husband cut around the face, sack and sled so I could use different colored glitter.  So it has white, gold, brown and red glitter.  This was so easy and all of these items I decorated were only $3.00 at Target.
I am not sure how I am going to use the Santa and reindeer I may put it on a wreath I have all the material to do that so  I will just wait and see.

UPDATED: Vinyl on car window

My husband and I have a new car and we are not one to put bumper stickers and things on our cars. But, our older car had some vinyl on  the back window. So I felt it was okay to put some vinyl on the back window.

I started out cutting out a tree of life in brown vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo. Then I placed a little pink vinyl heart on the tree.  This was placed on my back window on the right hand side.  Due to the color it is not really easy to see but, it is just the right size and works perfectly.

Then I made another one in a bright green vinyl also using my Silhouette Cameo. I cut this out and put it on the left side of the back window. They are pretty lined up together and they look really cool.

I really like how they both turned out and I am glad they are on my car.  I practice yoga 3-4 times a week and it has helped me so much in just letting go and living in the moment.

Here is a photo of the vinyl decals.

After I put these on my car, I noticed that I could not see the brown tree of life that well.  So I decided to change it out.  I used the same bright lime green color for the tree then  I put a dark blue vinyl on the background.  I also added the pink heart to the trunk.
This is the same color as the yoga tree of life but, with the blue background it looks different. I really like how this turned out.

I thought about putting a blue background on the yoga one but, I did not want them to match that much.  So instead I cut out the Chakras and lined them up on the yoga tree of life.  I even had a light blue color for the throat.  Love how these both look.  Goes great with our blue car.

Granddaughter's Halloween costumes.

Last year we went to Colonial Williamsburg VA for their first Halloween event.  Our daughter was getting ready to deploy and would not be home for the holidays.  We had an amazing time and decided to go again this year.

Since our daughter is being with work and her husband is busy with school and taking care of the grandgirls we offered to make their costumes.

Both the girls found a unicorn costume at the store then I started looking for a way to make one for them.  Thanks to Pinterest I found just what to do and how to  do.  The hardest part was finding a hooded sweatsuit in the sizes I needed.  I wanted white ones but, just could not locate any.

Then I found a pink and purple hooded sweatshirt along with matching pants.  One was going to be a unicorn and one was going to be a Pegasus.  But, we ended up making them a Alicorn which has a horn like a unicorn and wings like a Pegasus.

Here is where we found out how to do the wings:

These directions worked perfectly, my husband did these costumes I just found the directions and the materiel. This photo shows the outfits and the yarn.  We actually used both colors of yarn on the outfits.

The next photo is of the first set of wings. This is made with craft foam and craft sticks with hot glue and then elastic.  We also ran out of elastic and used a white shoe lace and it was so easy to tie and slip on the arms.  This is my husband wearing the wings so I may get a good pic.

For the horn we found a pattern at the site:

We picked up some glitter pipe cleaners and used them to wrap around the horn it not only gave it a nice color it also made the horn stronger.

Here is where we learned about the yarn for the mane and tail.  We only used two colors, my plan was to hot glue the yarn on but, my husband sewed the mane and tails on.  The tails went on the bottom of the jacket. The only issue we had was the top was a bit to heavy and since the hood did not have strings to tie the hood, it keep falling off the girls but, no matter they really loved them.

We made the ears in opposite colors so they would pop and be seen.  The directions are from the same site we found the wings. It was good that my husband modeled as they were completed since it was really hard to get pics of our grandgirls in the costumes.
The horn was sewn on to the mane and hood.

The tail was sewn on to the bottom back of the jackets.

Here is the pink one all done with the horn, mane, tail and wings.

Our granddaughters are only 3 and 2 and kind of small so we actually had to trim the tail since it was a bit too long.   We also trimmed the mane too because it was top heavy and we had no string in the hood so it could not be tied.  If the hood could have been tied it would have worked better.  However, seeing the happiness in our granddaughters and both their parents it was so worth it.

Here are some photos of our grandgirls in the costumes before we left for trick or treating.

Back of Fall sign

Once I did the Fall sign I decided to do the back.  I painted the back one coat of brown paint.

Once it was dry I sanded it lightly just to give it an older look.

Then  I put the words I wanted on it, I liked it but, just like the other side something was missing. That is when I picked up the Fall string and some flowers for both sides of the sign.  They were 40% off at Hobby Lobby.

Here is the end result, the sign has been turned around and the Halloween stuff is put away and now the table is decorated for Fall and Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving candles.

I took the Halloween designs off the LED candles but, it took a bit  for me to figure out what I would put on it for Thanksgiving. The other set of candles are already set for Fall so I just left them.  This morning I finally decided, on a brown vinyl turkey and do an offset in yellow.

Here is the finished product with the lights off.
