Sublimated notebook

Our Goddaughter always has a notebook and is writing in it.  So my husband came up with the idea to get a notebook to sublimate and make it like she is the author.  We put her name on the front, then I found a poem about being 16 and put that on the inside cover. One the back inside cover I put a message from her us.  Then on the back we put her photo and name making it her book and whatever she writes.

Sublimated Banner

We had a banner and wanted to do something with it for the gift we were making for our Goddaughter's birthday.  I pulled up the template in photoshop and put a design on it with her name.  Was really pleased how it looked on the screen was even more pleased with how it turned out.

Sublimated Box

Our God daughter's 16th birthday is coming up and we wanted to make her something really special. We ordered this wooden box and decorated the tile that goes on the top.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to design it.  I loved the colors but, was not completely happy with it. Then I thought a stain glass look would be cool so I found a stain glass back drop. Then my husband sublimated it and applied it to the box.  Was so amazed how this turned out.

Fall decorations

In an earlier blog, I decorated a letter b, when I put this on the door it just looked lost it needed more. I also had it hanging to low so I tied it up higher.

Last year I made a fall wreath using a pool noodle and I wanted to hang that with the B. Here is the wreath before I added the B to it.
Since it was a pool noodle it was easy to push the letter into the middle. I took the sign that was hanging down in the middle and tied it to the bottom of the wreath.  I am so very pleased with how this looks. I just took the two fall designs and made them into one and it is so much better.

Saints shirts

My son has friends that had a baby boy, the dad is a huge Dallas Cowboy fan.  My son is a New Orleans Saints fan.  So he asked me to make some shirts for the new baby and his sister. He wanted something with the Saints on it.  Here is what I came up with.

Here is the front of the baby shirt.

Here is the back of the shirt.

Here is a close up of the girls shirt.
Here is the back, I did not change the back they are both the same.

Girls drawings

When  our grand girls were here in June we had them draw on some paper.  This paper already had their name and the year on it. My husband picked out some photos of them and put the drawing and photo all together.  Then he made a coffee cup with their  photo, drawing and name along with the year.  I love having coffee with the girls.

First one is Jaina's cup.

This is Tifa's cup

Vinyl saying on door

So I have been thinking for the past few days that the back of our front door needs a little something. I just was not sure why or for that matter what.  Then when I was looking at Pinterest I seen a couple of ideas.

I picked out where I wanted it and what font I wanted.  From there I worked on the size, for some reason I wanted it to fill up this one space. Then, I decided to make it a lot smaller and just put in the center area.

It is small but, it can be seen and it is not overwhelming. Pretty sure my it will take awhile for my husband to see it.

Painted Letter

The weather was really bad today, when my husband came home for lunch he decided it was better to stay home. Eventually his they secured everyone at his job.  Well, I was bored and was thinking of something to do with the canvas letter that I had picked up.  I checked on Pinterest and came up with a couple ideas.

I used my Papillo water proof vinyl that you print on.  I printed out some really bright and colorful fall leaves.  Then my husband helped out, we decided it would look better if the letter was painted so he spray painted it a dark brown.

After the vinyl was printed it sits for 15 minutes to dry and set the ink.  Then to make it water proof you run under water if it does not have excess ink then no ink will run.  No ink ran and the colors stayed very bright. This vinyl is removable but, I had to really burnish it a lot to get it to stay on the canvas so I do not plan on removing it.  I know being in the south it will fade since the sun hits my front door.  But, I am really very pleased with the end results.

Once it was all ready my husband made a template to cut the vinyl out in the correct shape.  I could have messed with my Silhouette to do all the cutting but, this was so much easier. My husband did it for me I am not too good at measuring or hand cutting.

We placed the vinyl on the painted b and then we cut strips to go around the sides of it.  I will add a ribbon to it and in a month or so it will be on my door.
Here is is after it was painted before it was just a plain white canvas letter.

Here is the template lined up on the vinyl.
Once we cut out the vinyl using the template it is ready to be lined up on the letter.
Here I have the vinyl lined up on the letter.

Here are the pics showing different views with the vinyl on the top and all the sides.

Mama Bear Cup

I designed this coffee cup for my daughter.  I gave her a couple choices for the color of the bear and I knew she would go with this one.  It is a lime green water color look.  Then the back of it is a red faded color.  I know she is really going to love this cup, she is a mama bear especially when it comes to her children. Can't wait until she gets this, I thought it would look cute if it was on both sides.

First day of school - Sublimated

Here is a boy's version of the first day of school.  I tried to do it with a  green chalkboard background but, the sublimation printer just did not like it and it would not work.  Once I put the black chalkboard background on it then it was good to go.  This will be going to a little boy who is 2.5 and his mom will be able to use this for many many years to come.  I had to make sure it had all the pinks and purples off.  It turned out really good and all you have to do is fill in the information with a dry erase marker and it will come right off.

First day of school - boy's

This is for a grandma I met while her son and my daughter served together on the USS Lincoln. Her grandson will be starting kindergarten on Monday and she asked if I would make one for him.  I made it and mailed it out and it should arrive on Friday and be there for his first day of kindergarten.  I am so looking forward to see photos of them with the signs. Really love the colors on them and how big the boards are.

State cups

Lately many people are doing the states  in black and white stripes, using vinyl.  I was working on the state of MS and then My Paper Craze did a blog post on Silhouette School and I was following the steps.  Then My Paper Craze did all the states for free download.  Here is the link for the states:
http://www.mypapercraze.com

I wanted to sublimate the states on a coffee cup.  We are a military family so I wanted to do the state where I am from and where I now call home.  I am originally from Hayward CA and I took the word home off of the state and added the word Native.  Then I moved the gold heart near where I am from.

I now live in Long Beach MS and I took the flowers off and changed it to a magnolia and moved the heart to near where we live now. Then I placed them on the mug size paper and came up with a pretty pink faded background.

I really did not need another cup but, boy I am so pleased with this.

First day of school board

Things are settling down and getting back to normal.  I have not blogged since the begging of July.  I am working on turning this around.

I have seen the first day of school boards and I thought it would be cute to do one for our granddaughter.  I designed one last year and just sent it to Walgreens in Virginia.  It was just printed out on an 8x10 photo which worked perfect.

Our granddaughter is only 3 and she started school at 2.  She only went two days a week but, this is at a regular school where she is getting learning, she is hearing impaired this will help her get ready for kindergarten.

This year she is going to a different school and she will be going 4 days a week so this will help her even more.  Since they do not start until September I decided to do a sublimated board that they can use over and over for many years.

It took a little bit for me to get the design just right but, once I did we printed it using the Saw-grass 800 sublimation printer and then my husband printed it.  We are so thrilled with how is turned out and cannot wait to see our granddaughter holding the sign.  The photo will be taken outside so that everything can be read.  It is very shiny and just looks so cute.

Daughter's state cup

So after I made my state cup I thought I would make one for my daughter.  Since she was born and raised in Long Beach MS but, she is in the Navy and more than likely will spend the rest of her career stationed in VA.  Again using the free states from  http://www.mypapercraze.com

For this one I used both state flowers instead of the flowers it came with.  Along with moving the gold heart near where she lived and lives.  These are so cute and I know that my daughter is going to love this.  So for the Mississippi one I put the word native even through her parents are not from here she was born and raised in South Mississippi.     Then for the Virginia one I put home due to the shape of the state of VA, I had to fix as best as I could to show the state flower.
