Valentines Day treat bag

Putting together a box for my granddaughters, I decided to do a Valentines day treat for them.  I went to the Silhouette store and found this cute topper for a bag.  I picked up some white little bags at Michaels.

This was a very easy and simple craft I just measured the bag then scaled the design to fit.  Cut it all out in different colors and glued it all together.

Then I put a little treat inside and glued it to the top.  Since my granddaughters are young and would have trouble opening the bags I just glued the topper to the front but, did not seal the bag.
First pic after it is all cut out and ready to be glued.

Toppers all set just need to add the treats to the bag, then glue on the toppers.
Bags completed.

Dye Press Sublimated Shirts

Since the 100% polyester is hard to find at local stores and we knew we would be mixing up the Dyepress we purchased some more shirts for our granddaughter's.

We know that using dark colored shirts it is best to use really dark colors for the design.  The Valentine's ones came out.  So we thought we would have no issues with the next set.

Two of the designs went on a gray polka dot shirt and one on a pink.  The designs were all done in dark ink.  When pressed they came out faded like a vintage look.  Trying to figure out what happened. Does it need to be pressed longer, or perhaps since it was only 40% polyester there was not enough polyester for the ink to adhere to?

Either way all the shirts have a vintage faded look to them. They look cute just the colors are not as vibrant as I had hoped.  Here is a photo of them all. Funny thing did not even pay attention when picking up the shirts to notice that we picked up pink ones for our youngest granddaughter.  We were just trying to find the right size.

Sublimated Mardi Gras Sleeves

We ordered these sleeves just for the fun of it.  I had no idea what I was going to put on them.  Then I was asked if I wanted to ride a Mardi Gras float, I said yes and am so excited that this Sunday I will be with my friends riding in the Nereids Waveland parade.

My husband came up with the idea of sublimating Mardi Gras beads on the sleeves.  So I found a pic and using Photoshop and the sleeve template we created the sleeves.  The first one was not done long enough so it is a little faded.  Second one came out just right.  So happy to have them and they will help keep me warm.  Plus, they are festive for the Mardi Gras parade.

Sublimated Valentine's Day Shirts

When doing sublimation on shirts and other fabric it needs to be 100% polyester in order for the ink to adhere to the fabric.  You can sublimate on fabric that is less than 100% and it will give it a vintage look.

But, there is also another alternative, a product called Dye Press.  Here is a link where this product can be ordered. http://www.dyepress.com/ They carry all different types to be used on different material.  I purchased a combo pack so I can try all the different products.

I had a red shirt that is 60% cotton and 40% polyester, the plan was to do some heat transfer material for valentine's day.  Since I had this product my husband and I decided to get some more shirts for our granddaughters and use this product.

Having a dark colored shirt would mean I would have to do as dark of color as possible for it to work.  The ink would also take on the red color of the shirt.

My husband mixed up the product then he sprayed it on the shirt where the ink would go.  He placed the shirts in the dryer to set the product.

While that was going on I designed the shirts.  Below is the end results, very pleased with how easy the product was to use and how these came out.

The red one is for our younger granddaughter.

Below, is the gray one that is for our older granddaughter.  They are not the exact same design, made them just a little different.  My daughter prefers not to have the dressed a like so I wanted to change them up just a little bit.

I really like the gray one it looks like it is a sketched drawing.

Elephant shirt

I have had this design for a while and I wanted to sublimate it.  So I finally ordered a shirt that is made to be sublimated.  Since the shirt is a dark color I had to take that into consideration when picking the color of the elephant.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and found the color I wanted then, I printed it out using my SG800 printer and larger paper 11x17.  Then we just heat pressed it on.  I am so thrilled with how this came out.

Teacher Koozies

Our granddaughter being in a special education program has 4 wonderful teachers that work with her for different things.  So we wanted to make them a little something just to say thanks.

Using Tagul I created these word apples and then I used Photoshop to set them up and print them out. Here is the link to the site. https://tagul.com

So happy how they turned out, this will be easy for our son in law to give to them.

Mustache Mugs

When my son graduated from Navy boot camp his friends met my husband and I in IL.  We ended up going to Chuck E Cheese and playing some games and just relaxed and had fun.  With the tickets our friend got she purchased some mustaches.  Her brother and my husband both had real mustaches so my son, friend and I put on some of the mustaches.

Well, this past October the four of us went to Italy to see my son.  While there our friend brought some mustaches and we made a point to take photos of us wearing them.  This time only her and I had to wear a fake one since my son had also grown one.

I decided to make her brother and her both a coffee cup with all the mustache photos.  Then I made them both a mouse pad.

Here is the different sides of the cup it has a grey background and red letters.

This one has a light green background.  The photos do not do them justice they turned out really good they are done using my Silhouette Cameo program and sublimation printer.

Here are the two mouse pads, I am so happy how they came out and I cannot wait for them to get them.

Valentine's Day Candles

I purchased some white vanilla scented LED candles and I put some red glitter tape around the bottom.  But, it just did not look right it needed something more.  I found some scrap pink vinyl and using my Silhouette Cameo I cut out a bunch of pink hearts and placed them randomly all over the top part of the candles.

Here they are before I decorated them.

Here they are completed and with out the lights on.

Here they are with the lights on.

Changing out candles for the holidays

I purchased these remote controlled LED candles for the Christmas holidays.  I really like them and I wanted to find a way to use them for other holidays but, not just be gold glitter.  My plan was to find a way to put glitter on it in the colors of Mardi Gras and Valentine's day.

Then I found the Duck Tape brand that comes in all kinds of patterns and colors.  So my plan was to find some purple and green Duck tape and put it on the candle.  I was looking for the wide style and could not find it anywhere in the colors I needed.

Then at Office Depot I found Scotch brand in the colors I needed but, it was a thin strip.  I picked it up anyway and I just did more than one layer around the gold glitter candle.

Here is a photo before I put the tape on it.

Now, here is the first part of the tape going on the candle.
Then next color is the green.
Here it is completed.
Then I did the same thing to two more candles.
I have four tall candles but, I decided to only use three.  Here they are all done and sitting on my coffee table.  I am really pleased with how they turned out.

I have also purchased some white vanilla scented LED candles that I am decorating for Valentine's day.  Will post photos when I am done with them.

Sublimated Sweatshirts

My husband and I purchased these sweatshirts and thought it would be a good idea to have our daughter's ship info sublimated on the shirts.  They are known as the wolves on the ship.  We put the ship's name and a photo of wolves together in a pack and then under it we put wolf pack.

It came out really soft and we both are so proud of it.  We are planning on putting wolf prints on the back.
