Wall decoration using vinyl

I have had this cross hanging in our bedroom for awhile.  There was a lot of space around it and it just needed something but, I just could not find the right thing.  Then this morning when I took a break from working on another project I came across something that I felt would work perfectly.

This was the biggest thing I had ever cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  I had some Hobby Lobby brand vinyl not the best so I really had nothing to loose.  It cut great, I did have to cut the letter F in faith again for the top just would not release from the contact paper.  Other than that it came out.

Below is a photo where I am pulling the contact paper off and using the scraper tool to get the vinyl to release from the contact paper.

The top part is done and now I am set for the bottom.  I just cut the words all together and placed it as one piece just to make it all line up and make it easier for me to apply to the wall.

The walls are green and the vinyl is a nice brown, which is close to the color of my brown accent wall.  I took a photo of the completed project with no flash and the colors showed up better.
For being the biggest project I have done, I am very pleased how it turned out.

I took a photo from across the room so I can show better where it is and how it looks.

Shadow Box

I am making good use out of the smaller shadow boxes.  They actually are not too small after all. So far I have made a Halloween and Fall one.  Yesterday, I picked up some different craft supplies at Michael's.  Found this pretty bells I really liked the blue colored ones.

So I put together this Christmas shadow box.  I already had the snowflake paper, I used that for the background then I placed the bells inside.  I had some blue vinyl that helps the blue bells pop more so I used that for the words and then I cut out a white vinyl bell.

Here is the end result it was so quick and easy.

Laundry room sign

A young lady that worked for a restaurant that we go to all the time mentioned this sign.  So I told her I could make one for her.  She asked for the colors of LSU which is gold and purple. I had a nice high gloss yellow that did the trick.  I did an offset and I have the colors interchanging.

My husband painted the board and instead of gluing on the clothes pins, he drilled holes and put screws in them.  Then he also put a hangers on the back so it is ready to hang up.

I am very pleased with how this turned out and I cannot wait for her to see it in person.

Replacing Dymo labels

I have had the Misto oil pressure containers for awhile.  I love using them instead of the sprays you buy.  I had a label on them for years that I made with my Dymo label maker.  Problem is the oil got on the label and it started falling off.

In stepped the Silhouette Cameo I felt if I put a vinyl label on it not only would it look nice it more than like would stick better and longer.

So I took my two Misto's apart and cleaned them really good.  Then I put them back together. I then, made nice labels for them so I know which one is which. I know the Olive one is a little crooked but, it is all good. Below is the before and after.

Vinyl on ceramic pumpkin

So I have had this ceramic pumpkin for years and for Halloween I have the Jack O' Lantern side showing then I turn it around for Fall and Thanksgiving.

Nothing is safe from vinyl in my house, I decorated the back of the pumpkin.  After Halloween I can turn it around for Fall/Thanksgiving.

Fall glitter bottle

I have this bottle that held Maple Syrup and once it was empty I really wanted to decorate it.  Was not sure what I was going to do.  I really wanted to put glitter in it like I do the Christmas ornaments.

Here is the bottle before I did anything.
So I took a little mop and glow and placed it in the bottle.  Then I gentle moved it around and drained it. Here is the link to my original blog:

Then I cut out an orange vinyl leaf.  I felt it needed more so I cut out the word Fall in a maroon color and placed it over the leaf.  Then I just found some gold ribbon and tied it around the neck of the bottle.  I tucked some fabric leaves behind the ribbon.  Below is the end result.

It is simple but, charming.

Updated Thanks Shadow box.

I took another one of the smaller 5x7 shadow boxes and made a Thanks shadow box.  Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut out in vinyl the words Give Thanks and some colored leaves.  I cleaned the glass and applied the vinyl to the front of the glass.

I had a fall background on my computer, I wanted it to be really bright and I had some 5x7 photo paper and printed it using photo paper.  Then I added a few fabric leaves.  I really like how it turned out and it was so quick and easy.

I really liked how this turned out however, this is with a flash so you can clearly see the words.  But, even with the dinning room light on it could not be seen very well.  So it bothered me enough, as I was changing out my Halloween shadow box and turning my pumpkin around from a Jack O lantern to a my thanks sign. I decided to change the words so they can be seen better.  I did on offset for both words and changed the colors of the word give.  This was done using scraps so nothing was really wasted.

Christmas plate

I found these square charger plates at a salvage store and I picked up a couple.  I wanted to do a plate that said cookies for Santa but, vinyl is not food safe and neither is the charge plate.  So I found this design already in my Silhouette program.

I had cut out the bottom part in brown vinyl but, it just did not look right so I took it off and did it it yellow.  I felt like something was missing from the edges so I decided to put some snowflakes on. But, no two snowflakes are a like so I put four different ones on.  I do like how it turned out, I did this all using my Silhouette Cameo and scrap vinyl.
