Re-using Scentsy Bars

So I noticed that my Scentsy bars still smelled good even after they had been in the warmer for a long time. But, the scent was not coming out with the warmer. I did not want to throw them out but, I was not sure what to do with them. Then I came up with a great idea, I went to Michael's and got a pack of small bags.  Found them in the wedding aisle they are used as wedding favors.

I then took the Scentsy out of the warmer and I put it in the bag.  I now place them in my drawers and closets and they freshen up clothes and linens.

What a great way to re-use the Scentsy and still have the scent. Here is a link to my friend's website to order some Scentsy. https://meltyours.scentsy.us/Scentsy/Home

Changing out Scentsy bars.

My friend sells Scentsy and she showed me the scents and warmers and I was hooked.  I love the different warmers and scents.  I was looking at an easy way to change out the scents. I first took the melted Scentsy and would either pour it back into the container or pour it in the trash.  This was quite messy.

Then I started putting the dish in the freezer for a short time and then they would could come out real easy.  What I did not like was getting the warmer that cold and then heating them up.  I was afraid the warmer would crack.

So I came up with a solution that works every time.  I have metal shish kabob skewers, I took one of them and was able to lift the Scentsy out no scratches to the dish and no mess.  Below is photos showing step by step what I did and how easy it is to do.

Here is a link to my friend's Scentsy site you can order online and it will be shipped right to you. She and I do not live in the same state.  https://meltyours.scentsy.us/Scentsy/Home

Re-using a canvas

A while ago I went with a friend of mine to a painting class it was a lot of fun but, I really did not like the painting that I did.  Since then, I have done a couple other paintings and I do like those.  I have the canvas and I wanted to do something with the canvas but, I had no idea what to do.

I seen this website:
http://vintageprettypearl.blogspot.com/2012/10/diy-quoted-canvas.html

I not only love what she did but, I loved the words she used. I did mine a little different. I first painted over the canvas with white paint.

Then I printed out the words and placed them on the canvas.

From there I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the words. I use contact paper for the words.
Then I placed the words on the canvas.

Once I placed the words on the canvas then I painted it in purple and pink.
After brushing on the paint I took a paper towel and brush and just scratched and swirled the paint around. I do not know why I did not this but, it looks better.

Then I peeled the letters off, some of the paint went under the letters. So I touched them up with some white paint.  Here is the end result. My hubby already hung it up in my office/craft room.

Easter Wreath

Below, is one of the first wreath's I ever made and it is still holding up.  This is the materials I used to make the wreath.

1. Straw circle wreath
2. Colored grass
3. Plastic eggs
4. Small bunny
5. Wired bow.

I first took the colored grass and hot glued it all over the wreath.  Be careful the glue tends to melt the grass you have to work fast.  Then I hot glued the eggs on top of the grass around the wreath.

From there I hot glued the little bunny and then just tied the bow around the wreath.  over time the grass was getting loose so I took some purple ribbon and tied it around the wreath.

This wreath is about 5 or more years old and it has held up and past the test of time.

Onesis for my Grandbaby

So my daughter Cassandra and family drove from Virgina to Florida to visit my son in laws family. Then they drove from Florida to Mississippi to visit us.  While here my son in law and granddaughter got to experience their first Mardi Gras.  I also made some onesis for my granddaughter.

One I made a stencil using my Silhouette Cameo and I painted the design.  I later outlined the yellow words with black ink so it would show better.
Then I made this one using the heat transfer material and my Silhouette Cameo.

Here are the other two that I made also using my Silhouette Cameo and heat transfer material.
My daughter is a huge Star Wars fan and her daughter is named Jaina which is a Star Wars Character from the books.  The other one my husband seen and he liked it so I made it for her.

A photo of all of them together.
