Angel Ornament

I seen this angle poem on Pinterest, I really liked it and I wanted to put it an ornament in vinyl. Here is the link where I first seen it.

I tried cutting it out a couple times in vinyl but, I was making it way too small and it just was not working.  Then in one of my Facebook groups I found a similar poem and the lady printed it out using transparencies.  She was kind enough to share with me her version.  We both have the Silhouette Cameo so she sent me the file all set up with the poem and the ornament shape around the poem. She offered me some wonderful tips and I am so grateful for her.

Using my Silhouette Cameo I was able to do a print and cut. I printed on vellum paper. I first printed the words out using my Epson printer.  Once I let the ink dry, I placed the vellum paper on my silhouette mat making sure all was lined up.

Then I set the Silhouette to cut out the shape of the ornament that is around the words.  It printed perfectly. My settings are the same for vinyl.  From there I tried to put the cut out into a 2 5/8 round style ornament but, for the life of me I could not get it to lay flat.

I left everything alone and went to bed.  This morning I tried again and I could see it was just too big. So I took a plastic M&M 3 inch style and it slipped right in no problem then I just added some white feathers from a boa.  I am very pleased how this turned out.

Vinyl and tile for my kitchen

I purchased the saying at the Silhouette store and I really liked it but, I did not want it on an ornament where I only see it at Christmas time.  So I put it on a 6x6 tile, I picked the blue and yellow combination to match kitchen which is yellow and cobalt blue.

Here is a photo of the tile that I used, I picked it up at Lowes.

Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut it out.  Before applying I cleaned the tile with rubbing alcohol.
Here is my design all cut and weeded and ready to be placed on the tile.  It is done in a nice blue, my kitchen is yellow and blue and it is going to go nicely in there.

When I applied it I went from the bottom up, in doing that the top was shifted to the right.  There was a nice little space at the top left.  So using my Silhouette Cameo I cut out a yellow butterfly.  I am really pleased with how this looks.

I decided to watermark the photo, to hopefully prevent anyone from coping this photo.  This saying is very popular and can be purchased in the Silhouette store.

Our 2014 ornament.

When my husband was helping me pick colors for our family's ornaments he picked a blue one for our daughter.  However, when I seen that it matched the color we were using for our tree this year I told he she is not getting this color and to pick another color.  I wanted that color for our tree, it was a perfect match.

So I just finished our ornament and here is a link to how I did the glitter with photos and steps it is really easy and so much fun.

Once the glitter is all done then I pick a design and cut it out in vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo. I just was not sure what to put on this one especially since I did the G-Ma and Grampy established ornament for last year.

I played with a couple different designs and I came up with this snow man and I am so pleased with how it came out.  I then glued ribbon around the cap and glued the cap to the ornament.  Then just tie matching ribbon.

Here is the back, I love the choice of the white with the blue glitter.

Here it is on our tree.

This photo shows it up close, did not realize we have a 2012 dated snow couple but, they look good together.

Son's Glitter Ornament.

I finished making my son's ornament. I did not have any blue ribbon but, stopped by my local Tuesday morning and found a pack of ribbon that had just the color that I wanted.  So happy how this turned out.  Here is the link to how I glittered the inside.  It is very easy and I show photos.

I also hot glue ribbon around the cap and I glue the cap onto the ornament.  The I tie matching ribbon to the top.

This photo did not show the stars and the ribbon so here is a better one.

Here is the back.

Daughter's family ornaments.

I just finished making ornaments for my daughter's family.  The instructions on how I do the glitter just follow this link.

After I did the glitter I cut the design out in vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo.  Then I applied the vinyl to the ornament.  I also cut ribbon and glued it around the cap and glued the cap to the ornament.  From there I tied a match ribbon on it.  Now, they are ready to hang.

Here is the front view

Here is the back view.
I still have our ornament for this year to finish and I also have one for our son to finish.

Grandparents established ornament.

Last June my husband and I became grandparents for the first time.  I made Christmas ornaments last year but, never thought about making a grandparents ornament.  Then I came across some this year and decided to make one with the established year.  It is black glitter white letters and sliver glitter ribbon.

Wood Sign

Hubby and I went shopping at a second hand store, I was looking for any kind of items I could use for crafts.  We found these nice pieces of wood that just needed to be sanded and varnished or painted. They are a bit more expensive than going to a hardware store.

I really wanted some kind of sign with the Wise Men Still Seek Him.  I was working on my own design then the Silhouette store had a huge sale so I went ahead and purchased the file.  But, I liked the style of font that I was using so I combined files.  I used the wise men and the font that I liked.

I staggered the words around the wise men to have it read up and down and not left to right like you normally read.  I planned to do a gold star and my husband said to do it in black then it is all like a shadow.  I am very pleased with how this came out.

Cutting Board

In a group I belong to on Facebook someone shared this design.  They wanted to trace it and put it on a small Dollar Tree cutting board.  When I seen the design and what she was planning on doing I thought that was a great idea.

So I asked if she mind if I trace it and do the same thing she was just fine with it.  I traced it using my Silhouette Cameo it came out nice and crisp.

Then I mirrored the image and put it on the back of the cutting board. It was a gift for our favorite waitress.  We gave it to her yesterday and she just love it.  Love the entire design.

Christmas shirts for Granddaughter's

I made something using printable heat transfer material and I added an elf part to it so that none of the material was wasted.  I had planned on putting it on a shirt for me but, it just did not look right and it was not for me. Then I remembered I had some onesis in my granddaughter's sizes so I made another design and ironed them on the shirts.  Problem was I did a double cut but, I should have went ahead and had it do it again.  I ended up having to cut out the design myself and it was very time consuming.  I added the words Merry Christmas but, tried cutting it out but, it was a mess.  I still have one so I may try again.

I did get the design cut out but, not as good as I would like but, it is for my granddaughter and she will not mind at all.

So here are the two shirts I have made using a print and cut vinyl.  I just need to work on getting it to cut cleaner and better.  The elf one is for our four month old Granddaughter.  The moose one is for her 17month old sister.

Christmas Ornament

Found in a Facebook page this cute little poem.  I made my own using photo paper.  Then I put Mop & Glo inside the ornament, I let it drain wiped off the excess.  From there I poured some extra fine glitter in swirled it around and poured out the excess.  I added the poem and ribbon then it was all complete.  First photo is a close up of the poem.

Here is the second one with the ornament attached to it.

Starbucks Coffee Cup

Found this large size cup and thought it would be perfect for a friend of mine that drinks lots of coffee.  Then I looked for a design to put on it.  Found a site where you can make the Starbucks logo and add a name so I thought that would be cool to do.  I could not get the outer circle to come out right so I just left it off.  I am so pleased with how this turned out and my friend was very happy about it.  Her large cup at work recently broke so this was good timing.

Grandparents Tile

Purchased this design at the Silhouette store.  I just love what it says, I cut it out in vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo.  Then I applied it to a 6x6 ceramic tile.  I made this as a Christmas gift for one of my friends.  She loved it and so do I.

Etched wine bottle

I really liked how the wine bottle I etched for a local restaurant turned out that I decided to do one for our home.  This is the split Royal design.  I used a scrap piece of vinyl.  My hubby wedded out the parts we did not need.  With etching you take out the opposite that you would if it was for a vinyl project.

Then I put Armor Etching creme and let it sit for 25 mins.
Here is the end result, with out turning on the lights.

 Now with lights on.

We added it to our blue display, along with our let it snow wine bottle.
So pleased with how this turned out.

Decorated Wine Bottle

Our color decorations this year is blue.  So I decided to decorate a wine bottle, I could not find blue mess but, the white and silver looks really good.  I put some blue ribbon in the bottle with the mess. Then I used my Silhouette Cameo and cut some snow flakes  and the words let it snow. in dark blue vinyl.  From there I glued blue ribbon around the bottle and I glue a fabric flower to the bottle and I added a blue gem to the center of the flower.  I like how this turned out.

Decorated sippy cup for Tifa.

Found this cute little cup at the Dollar Tree and got it for my Granddaughter Tifa.  Then I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut some vinyl and put her name on the cup.  We don't like to personalize things so I just put it as Miss T.

Christmas Wine Glasses

I seen this done in a group I belong to on Facebook.  I loved it so much I wanted to try and do it. I made two sets and I am going to cut the vinyl out and put on transfer paper and send to my daughter in Virginia and she will glitter the glasses.

To do this, you clean your glasses, then you pour a little mop & glo in the glass.  Turn the glass to it's side and gentle swirl the mop & glo around until the entire inside is coated.  Once it is coated wipe off any that may have gotten on the outside and the rim.

From there pour the glitter in and turn the glass to the side just like you did with the mop & glo.  Pour out the excess.  Then let drain, I let them drain for a day.  Once done you vinyl how you would like.

With my husband's help we decorated four glasses.  One Frosty The Snowman, Rudolph,Grinch, and Santa.  For The Frosty The Snowman I cut out on photo paper and attached with some E6000 glue,

The fuzzy on the top of the Grinch and Santa is a boa that you can get at Michael's.  I also got the pipe cleaners for Rudolph at Michael's.   Then you just put a votive candle on the top.  Below are tow photos one with candles and one with out.

Christmas Shadow Boxes

Here are a couple Christmas shadow boxes that I made.  The background photos I found on Google and printed out on photo paper.

Then I added this shiny snow, I taped the back so the snow would stay in place.  The I put a horse drawn carriage on the front of the glass in black vinyl.  Then I put the words Dashing through the snow across the top of the frame.

The second one I did the same way I just put Let it snow on the glass it is in a light blue vinyl, I like it but, it is kind of hard to see.  But, still very happy with how it turned out.

Bedroom wall sign

I have had the sign Always Kiss Me Goodnight on the wall for sometime.  It was purchased from the Dollar Tree.  It was just a cheap stick on before I had the Silhouette Cameo.  I recently purchased the Samantha Upright PRO and thought it would be a wonderful font to re-make this saying in vinyl.

I picked out the colors I wanted and I measured the width and length above the door frame so that words would not be too big.  The first time I printed the words they were too big.  So I did it again and I liked how it came out so I cut it out and then it sat with the printed words still taped to the wall with painters tape along with the designs that will be at the end and middle.

So today, between cleaning I decided to go ahead and cut out the designs that will be on the ends and the middle.  Then I took everything and put it in my room along with scissors and transfer tape. Everything was weeded and ready to go.  I just asked my hubby to put it up for me that way it was up there correctly with equal balance side to side and top to bottom.

It did not take him long and it is finally up it looks so good I am so happy with it and that it is up.
Stood on my bed to get all the words, took a few photos with and without the flash.  Here are two of them.

Christmas countdown plate.

I have seen different Christmas countdown plates, and I wanted to do one for my Granddaughter's. I did not want the entire plate covered in chalkboard.  So I covered an area to put the chalkboard on. When I sprayed the area, the stencil was not sealed good and it did not come out right. Then I put a bigger piece of vinyl on to repaint and fix the error.

In the process of doing this, I ended up making a bigger mess and pulled the red glitter paint off.
Here is a photo of the plate with the mess.

I then decided to paint the entire center of the plate instead of spray painting it.  Well, the paint did not adhere to the plate and I really did not like the entire plate as a chalkboard.  So I washed the paint off and above is what I had under the paint.

My darling husband took and carefully scraped off the paint and made it as smooth as possible. Then he had me cut out a circle to cover the mistake up.

Here is the end result.  I am so very happy how this turned out, after the trial and error. I had read somewhere that you need to treat the chalkboard by rubbing chalk all over it then wipe it off so when you mark on it there is not a ghost imprint.  So I made sure to do that then I put a number on there to see if it would be completely gone when erased and it was.  The chalkboard has some bumps on it but, the plate was saved and I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Since it is for my Granddaughter's I decided to add a little something to the back.

Dollar Tree Cups

Found these blue cups at the Dollar Tree and picked some up.  Then I found this cute plastic Mason style cup with snowflakes on it and thought it was a better size for my granddaughter.

Here is what I did with one of the blue cups, I made this for my daughter just for fun, she is an adult in the Navy but, I know she will like this cup.

Here is the plastic Mason one that I just added the Miss J to it.

Etched Wine Bottle.

A local restaurant that my husband and I frequent, was kind enough to save me some wine and liquor bottle.  I took one of the green wine bottles and etched a split letter B and the restaurant's name.  With my husband's help it was weeded and then lined up on the wine bottle.

It also had a cork with it, my husband cut the cork length wise so that air can still get in and the cork is there as decoration.

Then I found some lights at the Dollar Tree since the bottle is green it will not matter that it has green wire.  So happy how this turned out cannot wait to deliver it to the restaurant.

Decorated Liquor Bottle

I had seen in one of my Facebook groups a simple but, pretty way to decorate a wine bottle.  A restaurant that my husband and I go to often collected some bottles for me.  To thank the young lady that saved them I made her a little something.

This was done by putting red glitter mesh in the bottle then I put a half a cork in the top.
From there I cut out a Christmas tree in green vinyl then I added a yellow vinyl star over the top of the tree.

I purchased the burlap flower and added the fabric flower to the center.
The burlap flower had a wire twist tie but, it was not long enough for the bottle.  So I glued some twine to the back of the flower and I twisted the wire tie and the twine together.

The bow seemed to slip, so I put hot glue on the center of the bottle and pressed the flower down. I then tied the twine and placed hot glue all around the twine.  Was not really pleased with the end result so I took some red ribbon that has snowflakes on it.

I add some hot glue over the twine and then placed the ribbon over it I like how it looks now.

Here is another photo with the light from my kitchen window.

The recipient of this wine bottle, she really liked it.  This made my day.
