World of Warcraft Glasses

Beer Glasses for New Son In Law.

I had decided that since we did Yoda coffee cups for my daughter that we should come up with something that my son in law would like.  My daughter tells me that he likes World of Warcraft and that it would be cool if I could do the symbol which looks like a lion.

Picked up some nice beer glasses at you guessed it the Dollar Tree.

We tried all kinds of photos but, nothing seemed to work there was so much detail that needed to be done.  Then we finally found what we were looking for and we used the Silhouette Cameo and measured so that we had the right size for the glasses.  Then I actually found the World of Warcraft font online and we cut out the word Alliance.

Here is the stencil of the WOW symbol
Now with the etching cream.

Here are two of the glasses before the word Alliance was added.
Here is the etching the word Alliance on the glass.

Now here are two photos showing the finished project. I added some water and green food coloring so the design could be seen better. I also put a blue beer bottle behind the glass so it would show up better for the camera.

Yoda Glasses

Yoda on coffee cups.

So for my next project I purchased some clear glass coffee cups as you may have guessed I purchased them from the Dollar Tree.

So my daughter is a huge Star Wars fan and my husband and I thought it would be cute to do Yoda on the coffee cups.

We found a Yoda and made it into a stencil using contact paper, we even put the name Yoda on there.

I cleaned the glasses with rubbing alcohol and taped the design to the glasses.  Next step is to put the etching cream on and let it sit for 5-10 mins then rinse off.

Here is the end result.

Creating Stencils for Etching.

Wanted to etch some wine glasses with a fleur de lis for some family friends.  Picked up some wine glasses at the Dollar Tree along with some contact paper.

Then I found online a nice outline of a fleur de lis and using my Silhouette Cameo I cut the design out using the contact paper.

Prepared the glasses by cleaning them with rubbing alcohol.  Then after the design was weeded and there was just an outline it was ready to be etched.
Then I just taped each stencil to a wine glass and put the etching cream on the glasses.

Once they sat for 5-10 mins I just rinsed them off.  They turned out wonderfully.

First Vinyl Project

First Silhouette Cameo Project.

So for my first project I have this mirror that hangs at the end of a small hallway.  I wanted to decorate it with something simple.

I came up with the idea of putting the words "Mirror Mirror..."

My family thought the idea was cute so with my husbands help we figured out the size of the font and put the vinyl on the cutting mat and had it cut out.  This machine is so amazing it did a great job and it was so easy.

We did not know about the transfer paper and my husband painstakingly put each letter on the mirror. Keeping it straight and where we wanted it was not easy but, for our first project it turned out wonderfully.

I learned that my husband is going to be a huge help with my projects he helps weed the extra vinyl from the design and he helps trim things for me.  He also measure so all is straight, I am just not that detailed so glad he is and that he is willing to help.

Here is the finished project.

I also attached a photo of my painted candle sticks and the vinyl on the mirror.

Another Candle Holder Project

Colored the candle holder.

On Pinterest you can find so many ideas and I just wanted to try this one. I read where you take white glue and mix it with food coloring and then paint the candle stick, so I tried this out.  It turned out pretty good but, it was not as smooth as I would have liked.  Since it is not a gift and in my home I am just fine with it.

I etched the glass and added some blue and green glass and a votive candle and the pair of them are on my coffee table.

Here is one of the websites where I found out about the white glue and food coloring.

My Silhouette Cameo

 Silhouette Cameo arrived.

Was so excited when FedEx arrived with my Silhouette Cameo.  But, after opening the box my excitement changed.  Amazon had sent me a juice machine and not the Silhouette.  But, I called customer service and everything was handled and my Silhouette Cameo was reordered.

It arrived two days later and the wait was well worth it. I love all the things this machine does. I am not a scrapbook person.  But, I will use it every now and then to make some cards.  What I really wanted it for was to cut vinyl for signs and to cut contact paper to use for etchings.
